Following last week's insane weather many people around the state, and particularly on the NW coast, are mopping up and assessing the flood damage. We saw the biggest flooding for almost 100 years from Sunday onwards. Lives were lost, people missing, farmers lost livestock and produce. The ramifications will be long lasting. It seems a cruel blow when just a few months ago almost the entire state was subjected to intense bushfires.
Out of the receding flood waters there have been some good stories and as always, people in the community band together to help where they can. Later this month, Thirty Three Cups are hosting a dinner and auction, Feast 4 Flood. I'm volunteering my time to photograph it, others are donating their time in the kitchen and for entertainment. Local producers and businesses are donating food and items for auction. At the moment tickets can be bought in person at Thirty Three Cups and you can stay updated by 'Liking' the Feast 4 Flood FB page.
