Well, didn't March just kind of ninja-like sneak its way on into our lives? And hello to autumn - you basically rocked up smack bang on March 1st, didn't you? Quite frankly, I think most of us are happy to see you but I don't think anyone would have complained had you decided to be a bit tardy making your appearance this year. No Indian summer in these here parts, that's for sure.
As I type, I can see smoke from the neighbours' chimney snaking its way skyward - a small plume of white co-mingling with soft, grey clouds. Flannelette pyjamas have taken over from summer nightwear, the electric blanket finds itself useful again and an extra blanket rests at the end of the bed to help keep toes warm too. It isn't terribly crazy to have a hankering for something along the lines of this soup or this stew. And few would shake their head at the offering of a hot chocolate right now.
