A quick, speedy-Gonzales check-in just to say 'hi' and to thank everyone for the lovely comments about the photos from the Cradle Coast Farmers' Market's first anniversary last weekend. I was gobsmacked by the response! If you haven't seen them, you can have a look at the post I wrote here, or you can see the Facebook album here.
It's panning out to be another busy weekend as I try to balance the ever-growing pile of marking for school (whimper - it's monstrous!) and fun stuff like taking photos. Tomorrow I'll be heading out to Mount Gnomon Farm to help capture the launch of their butchery and restaurant - it's lovely to be involved and I'm so looking forward to it. Aaand, the less said about that marking, the better.
What has really struck me over the last few weeks is that there are so many brilliant local projects and events going on - I don't remember it ever being quite like this before! It feels as though there is quite a momentum building and I'm really enjoying seeing people around these parts being positive and giving things a crack. It's easy to get caught up in the bad news (locally and elsewhere) and let negativity take over. Personally, I'm making a conscious effort to surround myself with more positivity - and I'm trying really (really) hard to be positive myself (not always easy - all I have to do sometimes is think about all that marking that needs doing and the negativity creeps its way back in.)
Speaking of projects, I don't know if you've seen much about it on Facebook yet, but a couple of really inspiring people (Rohan and Kate) are launching something special. You can read about it here and if you want to offer some support, you can do that here.
Do you have something exciting project-wise coming up that you want to share? Or know of someone who does? Maybe pop a link in the comments so others can check it out and give a helping hand?
