Early in the new year, I photographed a wedding at Highfield House, Stanley, Tasmania. It's one of my favourite places on the NW Coast to photograph so it was really lovely to be asked along.
Now, Tasmania isn't known for its high summer temperatures. We're lucky to get a couple of days in the thirties generally speaking. And, well. This was one of them! It was sooooo hot (apologies to those of you on the mainland who regularly put up with temperatures into and above the forties for days, nay weeks in a row - bear with me, feel free to roll your eyes)! Everyone was red-faced and flushed by the end of the day - the harsh Tasmanian sun introducing itself grandly to wedding guests from the mainland. Some chose to cool off with the help of a hose as we waited for the much-discussed and anticipated break in the weather. I'm not sure I've ever been happier to see rain clouds or hear a low rumble of thunder quite like I was that day.
Shauna and Adrian were absolutely gorgeous - inside and out; they and the family made me feel so welcome on the day, it really was an honour to be there to help capture it. Thank you so much for that initial email last year, Shauna - I'm very glad we got to meet and that I was able to share such a special day between you and Adrian. (And, Adrian - thanks for being awesomely patient while we got you to pose inside the building!)
Below are some of my favourites from the day.
Congratulations, Adrian and Shauna - and once again thank you for allowing me to be a part of your big day!
