While I'm thinking so much about Instagram and the community that can be created (or otherwise) through it, here are a quick couple of Instagrams from our (very) short time in the French Riviera. A particular highlight was our tour of Fragonard in Grasse. The building itself was gorgeous and the perfume is just divine. No really, honest. It is, I can't stop sniffing the stuff. Can I also say, that if you happen to visit Grasse, make sure you do include a tour of Fragonard - our guide was exceptional - entertaining & informative.
Next we moved on to Nice. I had to include a shot of the fabulously retro wallpaper from the hostel we stayed at. The food and flower market in Old Nice is also definitely worth a look if you're in the area. Another interesting thing to see there is the Sun Fountain. It features Apollo and on his head are his four horses - he's wearing them like a crown (as you do, Apollo, as you do.) Apparently the Nicois (am I spelling that correctly?) absolutely hated the fountain when it was first built in the 1950s. I dunno, he has some charm. Aherm (yes, yes - I'm *very* mature.) Also, there are plinths surrounding him, with statues on them and at night, those statues light up and change colours. What's not to love about that? Those crazy Nicois.
And that (finally, I hear you say!) ends my posts about the trip to France. If you had a look at some of the photos, thanks! If you missed any of the posts, see them here:
