So, this morning I was working through the photos I took at last night's opening for the Youth Week photography exhibition, organised and curated by Michelle at ArtsCape in Wynyard. And I nearly cried. The reason why is below, check it out.
I got a little, uh, distracted writing the sign and missed out the 'h' in exhibition! Sigh. But I really like the photo. So it stays and everywhere I've posted it, I've had to explain that yes, I do actually know how to spell exhibition. Whimper. So embarrassing! Anyhoo, apart from me stuffing up signage, the opening was brilliant. You can read more about it here if you like. In the meantime, here are some more photos from the night.
Michelle did a fantastic job putting it all together (it was a massive task, with a very short timeframe) and the kids did a fantastic job with their photography. It's really heartening to see great things like this happening for artistic young people to be involved in, especially in what can be a very isolating community for creatives. It really makes me optimistic for the future of arts in our small town.
