"I am the sum total of my ancestors
I carry their DNA
We are representatives of a long line of people
And we cart them around everywhere
This long line of people
That goes back to the beginning of time
And when we meet - they meet other lines of people
And we say: bring together the lines of me"

As a wedding and family photographer, I have the honour of not only capturing moments in time to share forever (and ever), I also have the privilege of bearing witness to our "long lines of people" being brought together and formed into the lines of you and the lines of your precious ones. We all find ourselves in the same space at the same time, from some crazy miracle of DNA and culture - and I love documenting that. (I love it like a toddler loves the box their Christmas present came in!)

I am based in Burnie, on the beautiful NW coast of Tasmania. People often refer to this part of the world as "God's country", I don't know about that but I do know that I'm very lucky to call this place with such stunning beaches, mountains and ancient forests home. I often travel to other parts of the state to photograph weddings and even to "the big island" every now and again to visit family and friends. (Whenever I go to the mainland, my dad says I'm going "overseas" because technically, you travel over a sea - he has said this ever since I can remember and he still thinks it's hilarious! Sigh. Dad jokes really are a thing aren't they?)

When you spend some time taking photos with me, I wholeheartedly hope that you come out of it with a stronger sense of yourself and of the love you share together, whether as a family or a couple as well as a feeling of having just shared a moment in time creating brand new memories and forging brand new bonds between each other. My hope is that you finish your photography session with a renewed sense of love for each other.

When photographing your wedding or family, I aim to be as unobtrusive as possible while still providing you with some guidance on the day - everyone feels a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera at first and my hope is that by the end of the session, you won't even notice I'm taking photos!

I have provided families on the NW coast with lifestyle sessions for a number of years and have loved learning to bring that photojournalistic style to my wedding photography as well. Some of my favourite photos have been perfectly (and sometimes imperfectly) candid ones, those where if you don't look carefully you might miss something beautiful. These are the in-between moments and make-you-cry moments or make-you-laugh-until-you-cry moments that tell the story of your wedding or family.

It probably won't surprise you if I say that I'm a firm believer in printing your photos professionally, so while digital files are provided, prints are too. Albums are included in every one of my wedding collections and are available in some family collections.

In a world where most people keep their photos on their phone, USB or computer, never is it more important to have these memories in a format that you can feel, touch, hang on your walls and keep forever.

These memories are not only family history, but social history. They tell yours and our story all at the same time.

I so look forward to photographing your wedding or family and bringing all our "long lines of people" together to both create and document the super special and the beautifully everyday moments in time and space.
