On the weekend before her birthday, Mum and I took a little photography excursion to Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens. We've photographed this place before and you can see some of those photos here. That particular visit was on an overcast, spring day. This particular visit was on a sunny autumn day.
I'm hard pressed to pick a favourite season to see these gardens. The blossoms in spring are incredibly delicate, a complete contrast to the bold reds and golds of autumn. We're planning another trip this spring - hopefully this time we'll see the wisteria in bloom - there's a little pagoda that it blankets when it's in flower. And it's exceptionally pretty. Afterwards we stopped at the adjoining cafe for a Devonshire tea. I can highly recommend you sample the scones if you ever visit. Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens Cascade Rd, Romaine, TAS, 7320 Ph.
