I spent my morning having a wander through the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden for their Cherry Blossom Celebration today. I've been a couple of times before, once in spring and once in autumn, and it was lovely to have a second spring viewing. A lot of the flowers are still yet to bloom. I was talking to one of the volunteers and they think the whole heap of rain we've had + not as much sunshine as usual is the culprit. Regardless, there was a lot to see, not just in the garden; there were Taiko drummers, a Japanese teahouse and sculptures as well as the market stalls and sausage sizzle. It was definitely worth the visit. If you haven't been yet this spring, I'd wager that by another couple of weeks, everything will be in full bloom (my favourite is the wisteria.)
Hope you're enjoying the spring weather, too.
