The parenticals took me on an Easter Sunday road trip today to Cradle Mountain. It has been quite a few years since I last visited, so it was lovely to take the chance to see it again. This time without a bunch of school kids in tow and with a picnic lunch. Mum made pumpkin soup and sandwiches. Just the ticket.
We took the shuttle bus down to Dove Lake and had a bit of a wander. Mum and I stopping every now and again to take photos, Dad wandering in front of, next to and behind us as we wound our way up the track to a lookout. We were a bit worried about some kids playing a smidgen too close to the edge of the rocky outcrop. No-one fell, thank goodness. I have to tell you, the view was great but it would have been a loooong way down.
On the way home, we stopped to have a look at the old Waratah cemetery. I've got some photos from it that I'll share later. It sounds morbid I know, but it was a really interesting place to visit - I'm a bit fascinated by family histories (I'm a big fan of Who Do You Think You Are) and I always wonder about the lives those people lived. (Michelle, have you been there? You might like to check it out one day.)
Hope you're having an enjoyable Easter weekend with friends and family.
