It's a family tradition for mum, dad and myself to head out to the Stanley pub for Father's Day lunch (or Mother's Day, if it's that time of year.). So much so that when we were seated at our table today, our waitress remarked on it, "Oh yes! You guys are here every Mother's Day and Father's Day, aren't you?" Yes. Yes we are. Creatures of habit, I guess? We always know we'll have a lovely lunch (Dad: steak; Mum: squid & salad; me: scallops & salad; not to mention chocolate cheesecake shared for dessert.) And we know that afterwards we can have a drive around and a bit of a look see with our cameras in hand, calling out to Dad, "Stop the car! Stop the car!" He loves it. No, really, I'm sure he does on some level. Aherm.
There was quite a bit to be seen on our journey back to Boat Harbour as we detoured several times, checking out the shacks and the beaches dotted along the highway. We were whipped around by the wind and braved a couple of rain-showers in between spells of sunshine - I think it's fair to say spring has definitely sprung weather-wise up here.
I hope you had an enjoyable Father's Day, however it was spent!
