This is a sample of the photos I took on my phone with The Photo School at The Apple Shed last weekend. I have seen the light, should I say the "Afterlight" - which is the app I'm now addicted to. I really didn't think I'd move on from the VSCO app on my phone, but the time has come. I'm happy with the results I got - except for one teeny little thing I forgot about.
Lately I've been using the HDR feature when I take phone photos. I've already learned to turn that feature off when taking photos of subjects that move - people, animals, or objects being blown about in the wind! If you keep HDR on and the subject moves you can end up with some blurred/repeated elements of the subject in your photo. However, I totally forgot to do that with the first photo of the horse up there, which is why his ears look a bit weird. Even though his ears are weird, I still like the shot, so I'm sticking with it. I especially love the shot I got of him photobombing the cows. Funniest horse ever.
Are you a fan of phone photos or are you a hard-core, never go without your DSLR type of person? I love both, but I'm especially chuffed to have some new skills at creating higher quality phone photos for those everyday moments when I haven't got my big girl camera with me.
By the way, if you weren't aware of it, The Photo School also do online courses - so you don't have to physically go to a workshop if you can't make it. Check out the info here.
