If there's one thing I know about mums it's their commitment to documenting the everyday-ness as well as the big moments in their kiddo's lives. Back in the day it was with polaroids or on film; remember getting those printed photos back from the chemist? How exciting it was to open that envelope and flip through the photos, passing them around your family for everyone to have a squiz!
These days, digital has made it so much easier and quicker to take and share these memories, although we're seeing a generation who don't get the same joy we had holding those photos in their hands - #printyourphotos people! Smart phones and DSLRs have totally changed the way we document our families - and definitely in some great ways!
One thing that hasn't changed much though is that someone really important is often missing from these photos - it's mum (mostly, not always, but most often) who is taking the photos and not always in them herself. With Mother's Day coming up I want to challenge the mum's out there to put yourself in front of the lens (stop waiting, just do it!) It doesn't have to be via a professional photography session, it can be as simple as a selfie with your family (also: fur-babies totally count!) Whatever it is, as long as mum's in it too, share it in the comments or with the #lookseemumsinphotos tag. Go!
