Last week I had the pleasure of taking photos for the filming of an episode of Ben's Menu at Burnie High School. On the day, a partnership between Ben and Produce to the People was announced and he is now acting as their patron. PTTP also launched a crowd-funding campaign where the aim is to get 4000 people to donate $25 to assist them in the everyday running of the farm, food hub and of the organisation in general. Government funding and grants are difficult to get and PTTP have an incredibly important role to play in our community. You can read more about it here and donate here.
Overall, it was an incredible day, I had an absolute ball and seeing first-hand how a cooking show is filmed was fascinating (well, it was for me!) I was really impressed with Ben and the film crew who did a wonderful job working with the kids - I think there may be some future Masterchefs among them! The episode filmed is part of the second series of the show and it's planned to be aired in September this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing it on screen!
A very (very!) big thank you to Penelope for asking me to come along, it was a blast!
