One of my favourite local community groups, Produce to the People is a finalist for Community Group of the Year in the Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards for 2016 and I'm so chuffed for them. These guys do a huge amount of work for people who are struggling to make ends meet on the coast, yet they consistently miss out on important funding that would see them become more self-sufficient and more easily meet the demands of the community, particularly in regards to the food hub. It's brilliant for their hard work and commitment to helping people in the area to be recognised in this way. As part of the gala dinner, they'll have images screened to showcase the organisation, and when Penelope asked if I was keen to help out, I knew immediately what I'd hope to achieve in that session. We met the next morning to find that vision was shared - it's awesome to be able to work with people who are on the same page, without even trying!
You can keep up with Produce to the People via their website (linked above) and their Facebook page. Perhaps you have some food, or time or money you can donate to help them out? Numbers coming through the food hub are consistently increasing each year, by quite a lot and I know they'd appreciate whatever support you could give them.
Huge thanks to Penelope for entrusting me with this quick project - I loved doing it and good luck for the awards, I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!
