Sophie and Nathan's wedding took place at Sandridge Estate, Boat Harbour, Tasmania in late February. It was an incredibly beautiful day - the weather was gorgeous and the little beachside village where the bridal party were getting ready was the busiest I've ever seen it. There was another wedding happening just below the beach shack where the girls were getting ready and it was pretty awesome to take a moment to watch another bridal party make their way to join their friends and loved ones on the waterfront.
The bridesmaids looked completely glamorous, the bride's dress was incredible (ohmygoodness, seriously, that dress), the groomsmen all looked very dapper and Nathan's ring was the best groom's ring I've ever seen (matte black and terribly cool - you can see it below.) The bride's friend created all the floral arrangements - which were so, so pretty and were a perfect match for Sophie's dress and the venue. Nathan's son and daughter were ring-bearer and flower girl and were amazingly patient as I worked my way through the family portraits - they pretty much had to hang around for that entire time and the were complete rock stars about it! Other highlights included the groomsmen taking a moment or two to light some cigars during the bridal party portraits (and looking a little bit like gangsters or possibly a boy band, in the best possible way, of course) as well as everyone taking their "cutting a rug" duties very, very seriously at the business end of the reception.
Below are some favourites from the day - Sandridge is such a pretty spot, I'm a bit of a fan of coastal-beach-y-bush places if I'm being honest, so I might be a tad biased there! That big rustic shed really makes a great wedding venue - I don't know if it's just me, but I don't think you can ever have too many fairy lights at a wedding reception! (Well ... maybe you can, but you'd have to go pretty overboard, yes?)
Sophie and Nathan, congratulations and thank you so much for asking me along to help capture the day for you!
