I know, I know. More photos of the cat. #sorrynotsorry
Late last year I upgraded my camera to the Canon 5DMKIII - I still have the 6D, and will be using both regularly in future; they're both brilliant cameras. I'd planned to buy a MKIII later this year (and would have loved to have gone with the MKIV but that will have to wait for another time), then came across one at an incredibly good price, so I figured it was a sign from the universe. And you shouldn't ignore signs from the universe, it's bad luck. The other gear purchase I'd planned to make later this year was the Sigma Art 35mm F1.4 lens. However, an opportunity came up to buy one early this year at an incredibly good price and I figured that was also a sign from the universe. Ignoring one sign from the universe is bad luck, so I figured ignoring TWO signs from the universe would be VERY bad luck. So I grabbed it while I could! Basically, if you hear of me buying anything else gear-related this year (other than batteries or memory cards), you might need to stage an intervention. Feel free to give me a stern talking-to if it comes to it.
All that to say, I've spent the last couple of months playing around with the new camera and getting to know it a little bit, and this morning I had some time to test out the Sigma ON the Canon - and I'm really happy with the results. Jenkins set herself up in the nicest part of the house for natural light; this is her favourite window to do her watching from. She got to spend some time spying on the neighbours and I got to put my camera in her face for a bit. Win-win. Also: PAWS (just saying.)
