The school year is winding down. Seniors have finished exams and graduated. Final results are in. We're getting to the pointy end of the year and I'm a bit shocked that it has arrived so quickly. So very different to last year, where it felt like every day dragged on and on and freaking on.
It's making me notice stuff. Not big stuff. Not life-changing, philosophical stuff. Just stuff like flowers that need replacing. Floors need sweeping and mopping. Oh! The car is due for a service! Actually, that's a lie. The car is overdue for a service. Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat ... okay, okay. Now I'm just being silly. I don't have a goose. But the other one is true.
Luckily for me, I have some leave coming up - which means I'm finishing up the school year early. Lucky because of all that stuff that needs doing. And lucky because I'm doing some photography work that I'm really excited about. I'm hoping to share some of that before Christmas hits. There are some great things on the horizon for next year too - starting with a wedding shoot at Highfield in Stanley in January. I'm taking all kinds of bookings for 2015 - if you want to get in early, shoot me an email via firstname.lastname@example.org
I'm leaving it until next weekend to put up some Christmas decorations - I live on my own, so I don't go the whole Christmas hog but it's still nice to feel some spirit of the season around the place. I'm keen to see if my neighbours can beat their attempt at being the biggest light display on the street from last year. They definitely go the whole Christmas hog (they're a little bit Griswold-y). And good for them.
Hope you've had a great weekend - are your Christmas decorations up yet?
